My oldest granddaughter and I once played a game called, "Somebody." It was designed to teach a child about the function and location of the various organs of the body. As my granddaughter and I drew the cards from the stack, read about the various organs, and placed stick-on versions on the plastic human figure provided in the game, I could not help but think about the body's intricate design, and the obvious implication that a master Designer had created it. Even my three-year-old granddaughter could understand that evolution could not account for such intricate detail and perfect function.
This game called "Somebody" reminded me that man is "somebody," not merely
"some body"! David wrote concerning God: "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well"
(
Psalm 139:14
). We are fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator of all things. Most importantly, we are created with a spirit that will live eternally! Where that spirit spends eternity depends on how we respond to the Will of the Creator now!
Jesus pointed out the preciousness of one soul when He asked: "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"
(
Matthew 16:26
). You are
"somebody"! Therefore, it is imperative that you recognize the value of your eternal spirit, and that you prepare that spirit to live eternally with God in Heaven!
God has given us His Word to guide us fully in that preparation. Come study it with us at Fleetwood, where you will always be treated as
"somebody," and never as just "some body"!
